Achievements are coming to our first game. There is one thing we want to say about them up front: every achievement comes with an in-game reward.

Not just badges

Most achievement systems hand you a notification and nothing else. You do something difficult, a box slides in from the corner of the screen, and then it slides away again and your game is exactly the same as it was before. It is a receipt, not a reward.

We did not want to ship that. If an achievement is worth putting in the game, it is worth paying out for. So every single one unlocks something you can actually use or see when you go back into the game.

Earn it, unlock something

The rule we set ourselves is simple: no empty entries. Nothing on the list is there to pad the count. If it is on there, it is because doing it is interesting, and because there is something waiting on the other side of it.

That also means the list is shorter than it could have been. We would rather have a set where every line means something than a hundred entries where ninety of them are “finish stage 3.”

What we are not saying yet

We are not listing the achievements or the rewards yet — partly because some of them are the kind of thing that is better found than announced, and partly because they are still being tuned. Still no title and no release date either. Both coming soon.

If you want to know when it lands, the studio is on Bluesky, X, YouTube and Reddit as @DarkmancerGames, and this devlog carries the longer updates.
